How AlterPath works

No long tutorial. Open the app, pick a story, choose as you go, and see where you land. Here’s the full picture of a typical session.

What are the three steps?

Pick a path, make a fork when the story asks, then see the ending your choices created.

1

Pick a path

Browse short interactive stories, dilemmas, and wild “what if” scenarios. Start with a featured one or pick by mood.

2

Make a fork

When the story asks, tap a choice. There are no wrong answers—only different ways through the same story.

3

See where it leads

Reach an ending shaped by what you chose. Save it, share it, or invite a friend to try the same story their way.

Step 1 — Finding something to play

When you open AlterPath, you’ll see featured paths and a library you can browse. Titles and short descriptions help you pick a mood—light, thoughtful, or “just one more before bed.” You don’t need to finish setup quizzes before your first story. Jump in, play, and explore more when you’re curious.

Step 2 — Playing through forks

Each path moves scene by scene. When a fork appears, you tap a choice. That decision changes the next beat of the story. Some paths have a few big forks; others offer more turns. Either way, the experience is the same: you steer, and the story follows.

If you ever wonder what the other option would have done, you can replay later and take a different route. Many people discover a second ending they like even more than the first.

Step 3 — Endings, your map, and sharing

When you finish, you land on an ending shaped by your choices. That outcome joins your map—a personal collection of routes you’ve already walked. From there you can share a card, challenge a friend on the same path, or start something new.

What “path” and “fork” mean

In AlterPath, a path is a story (or short survey) you play. A fork is a choice that changes the next scene. Over time you build a map of routes you’ve already taken—so you can look back, replay, or try a new direction. More detail: paths, forks, and your map.

After you finish

You’re free to jump into another story right away, challenge a friend, or come back later. Play at your own pace.

Free on Android

AlterPath is free to download on Google Play. You can play core stories without paying. Optional extras and Premium are in the app if you want them later—they don’t block getting started.

A note about devices and install

AlterPath runs on Android via Google Play. After install, open the app, pick a featured path, and play through your first forks. If someone shared a link with you, the same Play install unlocks opening that path in the app. Prefer to try before you download? The home page includes a mini-story you can tap through in the browser.
